Is there any staff interaction during check-in? +
No. Access to all ProLiving properties is 100% automated via a Secure Key Lockbox. Guests receive the access code prior to arrival and go directly to their apartment. There is no lobby, no reception desk, and no requirement to interact with any staff member at any point during the stay. The ProLiving team remains available 24/7 via WhatsApp or via our Contact Us page for any medical concern, emergency coordination, or practical need.
What if I stain the bed linens or mattress? +
If you have opted for the €75 Post-Op Recovery Package, your mattress and pillows are covered by waterproof protectors and you will face zero damage fees for any biological fluid staining — including blood seepage and anesthesia drainage. These are standard post-operative occurrences. See Recovery Package Terms & Conditions for full details.
Will I need to climb stairs? +
No. All ProLiving complexes are equipped with elevators. Villa 8 additionally includes a stairlift (subject to operational availability) installed at the building entrance, before the elevator, so that patients reach the lift without any physical climbing. This is specifically relevant for immediate post-procedure transfer from the clinic.
Please note that some units in the Urban Vibes complexes have a single step at the bathroom entrance. If zero steps throughout the apartment is important for your recovery, we recommend contacting us before booking — we will help you select the most suitable unit for your specific needs. Which property should I select based on my clinic? +
If your clinic is in the city centre — Advanced Hair Clinics, Seneca, or DHI Thessaloniki — book the Urban Vibes Collection (Palama, Brantouna, or Tantalidou), from €55/night. If your clinic is in eastern Thessaloniki or Kalamaria — STARKS Hair Clinic or Bergmann Kord Thessaloniki — book Villa 8 at 188 Vasilissis Olgas Ave, from €65/night.
Does the apartment have independent air conditioning? +
Yes. Every ProLiving apartment has its own independent AC unit with full patient control. The recommended post-operative ambient temperature to prevent perspiration around the graft sites is 20°C. Unlike hotel systems with centralised or restricted controls, you can set and maintain this temperature precisely throughout your stay.
How long does hair transplant recovery take in Thessaloniki? +
The critical graft stabilisation window is 7–10 days. Grafts are most vulnerable in the first 72 hours. Most patients can return to light activity after 10–14 days. Full graft integration and visible hair growth takes 3–4 months. ProLiving offers 5-night and 7-night recovery packages designed around standard post-operative flying restriction guidelines.
Can I order food delivery to my apartment door? +
Yes. Wolt and eFood deliver directly to the apartment door. Low-sodium options are recommended to reduce post-operative facial oedema. The fully equipped kitchen also allows patients or companions to prepare meals without leaving the property.
Can I fly after a hair transplant in Thessaloniki? +
Most clinics in Thessaloniki recommend a minimum 5–7 day waiting period before flying. Changes in cabin pressure can affect post-operative facial swelling. ProLiving offers 5-night and 7-night recovery stay options designed around standard flying restriction windows.
What is the difference between FUE and DHI hair transplant recovery? +
Recovery requirements for FUE and DHI are largely identical during the first 7 days. Both techniques require the same temperature management, sleep angle, shower protocol, and activity restrictions. The main difference is in the implantation step: DHI uses a Choi pen for direct implantation without pre-made channels, but post-operative accommodation needs are the same.
What type of shower is safe after a hair transplant? +
After a hair transplant, the first wash (Day 3–4) requires a handheld showerhead with gentle, low-pressure water directed at the recipient area. Fixed ceiling rain-showers create direct downward pressure that can displace grafts. All ProLiving apartments have walk-in showers with handheld showerheads specifically for this reason.
Why is Thessaloniki a good destination for hair transplant medical tourism? +
Hair transplants in Greece are performed exclusively by licensed medical doctors under EU healthcare regulations — unlike Turkey, where procedures are often carried out by non-medical technicians without physician oversight. Thessaloniki offers internationally recognised clinics including STARKS, Trichogenics, Bergmann Kord, Advanced Hair Clinics, Seneca, and DHI, at costs significantly lower than the UK or US while maintaining full European medical standards.
Why choose Thessaloniki over Istanbul for a hair transplant? +
In Turkey, hair transplants are frequently performed by non-physician technicians, which carries significant medical risk. In Greece, all hair transplant procedures must be performed by a licensed medical doctor under EU law. Thessaloniki clinics such as STARKS and Trichogenics combine EU-standard physician-led care with competitive pricing (€1,500–€3,500), Schengen-area travel, and no language barrier issues common in Istanbul medical tourism packages.
Why shouldn't I just book a regular hotel with breakfast? +
Hotels offer one genuine advantage: a breakfast buffet. But consider the reality of using it during the first critical days of hair transplant recovery — a busy dining room, other guests, and you with a bandaged scalp and visible facial swelling. That public environment is genuinely uncomfortable and adds unnecessary stress at the worst possible time. A ProLiving apartment gives you 100% privacy: a fully equipped kitchen, Wolt and eFood delivering low-sodium meals directly to your door, and no obligation to be seen by anyone until you're ready. For recovery, that independence isn't a compromise — it's the superior choice.
